re:Vernda verk?

Ég missti víst af umræðunni þegar byrjað var að vernda síður. Mér finnst að það ætti að létt vernda þær, frekar en full verndun. Og svo væri ekki vitlaust að hver sem er geti breytt flokkuninni og öðru tilfallandi. Annað hvort með því að hafa það í undirsíðu sem er ekki vernduð, eða að hafa textann í undirsíðu sem er vernduð. --Steinninn 14. september 2007 kl. 03:12 (UTC)

Það hefur ekki verið mikið gert af því að vernda síður hérna en það er eðlilegt að vernda form texta sem búið er að lesa yfir. Það má mín vegna alveg vera léttverndun. Ég skal gera það eftir nokkra daga ef enginn mótmælir hérna. Stefán Ingi 14. september 2007 kl. 21:01 (UTC)

Betawiki: better support for your language in MediaWiki

Dear community. I am writing to you to promote a special wiki called Betawiki. This wiki facilitates the localisation (l10n) of the MediaWiki interface. You may have changed many messages here to use your language in the interface, but if you would log in to for example the English language Wiktionary, you would not be able to use the interface as well translated as here. Infact, of the 1798 messages in the core of MediaWiki, 1195 messages have been translated. Betawiki also supports the translation of messages of almost 80 extensions, with about 1050 messages.

If you wish to contribute to better support of your language in MediaWiki, as well as for many MediaWiki extensions, please visit Betawiki, create an account and request translator priviledges. You can see the current status of localisation of your language on meta and do not forget to get in touch with others that may already be working on your language on Betawiki.

If you have any further questions, please let me know on my talk page on Betawiki. We will try and assist you as much as possible, for example by importing all messages from a local wiki for you to start with, if you so desire.

fyrirgefið ef ég set þessi spurning á ekki heima hér. ég er að vinna að stofnun Landafundaseturs á suður Grænlandi, og datt hér inn.

er einhver sem þekkir föðurnafn Þorkells?

sbr. "Maður hét Þorkell farserkur, systrungur Eiríks rauða; (hann) fór til Grænlands með Eiríki og nam Hvalseyjarfjörð og víðast milli Eiríksfjarðar og Einarsfjarðar og bjó í Hvalseyjarfirði; frá honum eru Hvalseyjarfirðingar komnir. Þýðingar á stjórnarskrám

Ég setti upp flokk fyrir stjórnarskrár sem þýddar hafa verið á íslensku. Þessi hugmynd kom upp í tengslum við væntanlegt Stjórnlagaþing. Það er líklegt að fleiri stjórnarskrár verði þýddar og mér þótti sniðugra að varðveita þessi gögn hér frekar en að smíða eitthvað tímabundið. Það væri vel þegið ef einhverjir mér færari fari yfir uppsetningu og framsetningu.

Call for image filter referendum

The Wikimedia Foundation, at the direction of the Board of Trustees, will be holding a vote to determine whether members of the community support the creation and usage of an opt-in personal image filter, which would allow readers to voluntarily screen particular types of images strictly for their own account.

Further details and educational materials will be available shortly. The referendum is scheduled for 12-27 August, 2011, and will be conducted on servers hosted by a neutral third party. Referendum details, officials, voting requirements, and supporting materials will be posted at Meta:Image filter referendum shortly.

Announcing Wikipedia 1.19 beta

Wikimedia Foundation is getting ready to push out 1.19 to all the WMF-hosted wikis. As we finish wrapping up our code review, you can test the new version right now on beta.wmflabs.org. For more information, please read the release notes or the start of the final announcement.

The following are the areas that you will probably be most interested in:

• Faster loading of javascript files makes dependency tracking more important.
• New common*.css files usable by skins instead of having to copy piles of generic styles from MonoBook or Vector's css.
• The default user signature now contains a talk link in addition to the user link.
• Searching blocked usernames in block log is now clearer.
• Better timezone recognition in user preferences.
• Improved diff readability for colorblind people.
• The interwiki links table can now be accessed also when the interwiki cache is used (used in the API and the Interwiki extension).
• More gender support (for instance in logs and user lists).
• Language converter improved, e.g. it now works depending on the page content language.
• Time and number-formatting magic words also now depend on the page content language.
• Bidirectional support further improved after 1.18.

Report any problems on the labs beta wiki and we'll work to address them before they software is released to the production wikis.

Wsexport: an automatic export tool for Wikisource

Hello, and first sorry for this automatic delivery message.

An export tool for Wikisource books, Wsexport, is currently in active development. It is a tool for exporting Wikisource's texts in EPUB, ODT and other file formats. It was created for French Wikisource, but it's also available for the other Wikisource subdomains. It can be used directly from its page on Toolserver.org (for texts in all languages, use "www" for oldwikisource), or browsing http://wsexport.fr.nf (currently only for French Wikisource's texts).

In order to work, the tool need some configuration from your Wikisource subdomain, This page explains how to do it. Currently French, Italian, English, and German Wikisource does it.

I checked your edits and there are no major issues, but two minor ones. Those are:

1. Removal of Tpt´s signature in the local Village pump under the section "Wsexport: an automatic export tool for Wikisource", due to a missing colon (in bold): [[:fr:Utilisateur:Tpt|Tpt]] ([[:fr:Discussion utilisateur:Tpt|d]]). Although that is an expected bot behaviour, you might want to fix this issue on other Wikisource projects.
2. Namespaces 104 and 105 need to be removed from the code. I have already posted a bug report on this one (see link), so the only thing you need to do is update pywikipedia when the issue gets fixed.
